Georg Jensen Silver – Continental Pattern Small Pastry Server – Sterling Silver – Denmark – GI Import Mark – Hammered Finish Handle - Patina

A sterling silver small pastry server by the Danish silversmithy, Georg Jensen, in the Continental pattern. The Continental pattern was designed by Georg Jensen (1866-1935) in 1906.

Pastry server is in overall good condition with signs of wear/ age present. Pastry server bears a GI Import mark. Please see Condition Report below for specifics.

Handle features a hammered finish.

About Georg Jensen –
Georg Jensen (1866-1935) was a silver smith who opened his silversmithy to the public in Copenhagen in 1904. Prior to working with silver, Jensen had completed apprenticeships in goldsmith and sculptor. Always an artist, Jensen then turned to silver and today this is how he is best remembered; for his and his studio’s timeless and innovative silver designs. Jensen himself designed dozens of patterns during his life and also worked with numerous talented silversmiths to bring modern silver designs to the world. After Jensen’s death in 1935, Georg Jensen Silversmithy continued the work of original and innovative design Jensen himself had set out to bring to life. Georg Jensen is still in business today and many of Jensen’s most popular patterns are still in production.

Markings:
- Marked on front of piece where handle and serving area join together, “925 // IMPORTE // GI // DE // DENMARK
- Additional small hallmarks to right of front hallmark and one, small hallmark area on back of handle
- Exact date of production unknown

Condition Report:
- Original vintage condition with wear appropriate for age; including general signs of use/ storage
- Scratches/ signs of use present on round server area portion of piece (please view photos for detail shots)
- Hammered finish handle
- Polished and ready for use
- Protective silver cloth storage bag included

- Diameter of Serving Area: right over 2” wide
