Circa 1920, Pair of Israel Freeman & Son Inc. Silver Plated Candleholders Modernist Art Deco Style Metal Candlesticks - Art Deco Geometric

A set of modernist, art deco style, metal candlesticks by I. Freeman & Son, Inc. of England. Can be used individually or together - in various configurations - as seen in the photos. Many configurations are possible with this set!

Set is silver plate. Each candleholder is marked, "E.P.N.S." (Electroplated Nickel Silver). This set could be polished if desired for a shinier - more silver - finish.

A nice, geometric design on each candleholder.

Exact date of production unknown. Circa 1920. (Markings indicate and early 1920s production time period.)

Working in London at the beginning of the 20th century and moving to New York City in the 1920s. The company was still in business in NYC in 2006 and being run by a mother/daughter team. According to their website (now closed), the mother/daughter are descendants of Isaac Freeman and, at the time, were still selling small silver items (information courtesy Michael Asbill)

Markings:
- Marked on each base, "I. Freeman & Son, Inc. E.P.N.S. MADE IN ENGLAND"

Condition:
- Original condition with wear appropriate for age
- In untouched state -- metal has been cleaned has not been polished
- Original patina present on each candleholder
- Signs of wear present throughout (please see photos for detail)
- Light candle wax residue remains

Measurements:
- Height: approx. 2.25" inches tall
- Width: approx. 3" inches long x 2.5" inches wide
- Candle opening: approx. .75" inches, round
